Buffet hosted by Ann Townsend and Richard McCrae.
Thirty friends joined the hosts at their historic homestead surrounded by several huge hay fields interlaced with trees and wildflowers. Enjoying the sumptuous breakfast buffet with glorious views of a nearby beaver pondand distant hills were: Susan Bredesen, Eunice Small, Shirley Buell, James Fountain, Michael Dupont, Sue & Ron Cloutier, Ruth Shaw, Bruce Scherer, Rachel Horowitz, Julia & Reynold Atlas, Alice Zanga, Dave Small, Barbara & Roger Cory, Elizabeth Coe, James Mallet, John & Ledlie Woolsey, Rick, Alice & Polly Godfrey, Bob & Barbara Coyle, Angie Gallup, Carol & Jim Baird, Hannah Zwart, Michael Hornsby.
Several of us then trailed after Dave as he searched the edges of a few of the hay fields and described the several dragonflies and butterflies seen there. Some of the creatures spotted were a Meadowhawk species (possibly the male Ruby Meadowhawk), male Blue Dasher, male Spangled Skimmer, bright green female Eastern Pondhawk (we did not see the blue male E P), Clouded, Orange and hybrid (?) Sulphurs, Pearl Crescent, Summer Azure, American Copper, Silver-spotted Skipper, and Bee Fly (?). Also seen were a Sharp-shinned hawk, Great Blue herons, and two Broad-winged hawks.
