Birding for Everybody!
One of America’s favorite pastimes is truly for everybody. Have you ever thought about trying birding but wondered if it was an activity that was too demanding? People with a variety of disabilities use many techniques and adaptations to participate in this wonderful hobby. If you have a disability and think you might be interested in birding, then this workshop is definitely for you.
Birders use sight, sound, and knowledge together and separately. We can go to the birds or let the birds come to us. Fortunately, birds can be found just about anywhere. That means we can experience and enjoy birds in various ways.
Do you want to identify birds by their sounds and song? Do you need help learning how to follow birds as they flit through the bushes and trees? Or have you thought how nice it would be to get more information on attracting these feathered friends closer to home? Then this is the meeting for you!
We will explore tools and techniques that can make birding accessible to anyone who is willing to learn. Please bring along like-minded friends. Share your experiences with beginners and experts alike. We will be setting up times in the field to practice our skills. This meeting is free and open to the public.
